Hiatus

Still on hiatus until I get done moving... Sorry guys. There is just too much going on to keep up with everything. Hopefully all will be settled in a week. Until then...

This Week in Music: 4/15/13

Sorry that I am way late posting this.  It isn't the kind of post I can do in advance because the TV shows don't post who will be on until Monday of that week. Anyway... life happened and now finally here it is.

April 20th (Saturday) is Record Store Day! If you don't know (but I am sure you do!), Record Store Day is an internationally observed day to celebrate the art of music .  There will be numerous albums being released only at real live record stores on this day.  Click here to see a list of albums and click here to find a participating store near you!    Which album are you most excited about? Happy Birthday... to ME!

Supposedly once we get to a "certain" age then we aren't supposed to care about birthdays anymore.  What's that age? Someone tell me because I am not there yet.  I will take any opportunity to celebrate life.  I plan to do that with a big slice of

YAYA’S HAND-MADE CHOCOLATE CAKE from Zoe's Kitchen.  --->

It is a. maz. ing.  It will be the highlight of my day.  I am sure of it.

Many bloggers do a yearly goal list.  Mine would be called "31 before 32".  It intrigues me but I don't know if I could even think of 31 things to put on my list much less accomplish them all. Other bloggers post about what gifts they might want to receive for their birthday.  I would do that, but, honestly, I haven't even thought about what I would want (other than a Nikon D800 DSLR camera, but that will continue to just be a dream. Hell, I would settle for any DSLR camera at this point.  Anyone got an old one laying around that they want to give me?  hehe  If so, I promise to post more pictures!).  Maybe I will do one or both of those things, but not today.  Today I am going to just enjoy the moment, love my friends and family, be thankful for another year and all the blessings I have, and savor that piece of cake!!!

This Week in Music: 4/8/13

Is it wrong that I am more excited about the opening act, The Lone Bellow, than I am the featured one, Dwight Yoakam?  Oh well, because I am.  The tour has only just begun so be sure to check it out when it comes to your city.  Click here for the tour schedule.

Music City Roots is pretty exciting this week too.  I am especially looking forward to The Howlin' Brothers. They had me at Cold Blood.  Remember that Music City Roots can be streamed online so be at your computer for this one!

This week is going to be another really busy week which is evident by the fact that I am posting this so late in the day.  Sorry! I had to go to my contracting job today which means my home business and you (this blog) got pushed back.  I really don't look for life to ease up until June.  The place where I am regularly contracted is moving their offices this month and I am helping.  Plus I will be moving either the end of this month or the beginning of next.  My mom is moving to Nashville next month (yay!).  Yes, that is A LOT of moving! Also, I over-commit myself (obvious by the fact that I own three businesses albeit very small, but still...), so really I should get used to this level of activity.  I expect life to ease up in June, but chances are it won't because I won't give anything up... Okay, disregard this paragraph.  Life moves forward at its normal quick pace... just the way I like it.

This Week in Music: 4/1/13

I am really excited that Great Peacock released their first music video which you can see below.  It is for their song Family Home (which I like) but I don't understand why they didn't do one for Take Me to the Mountain first (which I LOVE and think should be their first single).  Anyway, I still like it and I am sure you will too!

Amazon is running a special 100 albums for $5 each.  They have been handpicked by their editors and they picked a few really good ones. My favorites are below or you can see all 100 albums here

THIS WEEK IN NASHVILLE is full of Tin Pan South shows.  Tin Pan South is a songwriter's festival presented by NSAI (Nashville Songwriter's Association International).  NSAI is the world's largest not-for-profit songwriter's association.  Some of the world's best songwriters are members and will be performing at Tin Pan South.  The festival takes over 10 great Nashville venues and fills it with songwriter performances.  You get to hear the songs you love performed by the people that actually wrote them.  So, yeah, that is where I will be all week long!!!
